Hi to all RBD ,to star i'm only a SCR diver very interested on CCR .people talk how deep can a dive on a ccr,i said how shaloow can you dive on a CCR before you go back to OC

On a common sense level 50m, on an economic level 30m (coz i dont need trimix any more) but on a practical level I do all my diving on CCR (except occasional single tank dives abroad) because I only get 50-80 dives a year and I need to stay on top of my game.

If I ever reach the stage where I think this is not necessary I have a set of twin 7s in the shead for 30m stuff.

Some people love CCR and love diving them. Fine by me but I never got that bug. To me they are just a tool to overcome the cost and logistics problems of the diving i normally do. Every time I do a shallow OC dive I think to my self wow this is great. Easy buoyancy control minimal drag, virtually no equipment issues and total confidence in what your breathing.

Then every time i pull off a 50-80mdive for three hours on a CCR i think to my self, wow this is great. £15 for gas and lime, warm moist gas, limitless supply to overcome problems at depth, zero logistical problems with regard to equipment and gas fills, no depth limitations, shallow or deep doesn't matter.
