1) Upgrading the whole head to 2.5 (USD 3600) and hopefully getting Apecs 3

or

2) Installing the new Shearwater kit for the Meg (~2500).

or

3) just repacing solenoid, sensor wiring, 2.06 software, and getting an X1 (~2000)

I need and want to do an overhaul of some kind during my move from SE Asia to Northern Europe. Hopefully with the bit of experience I now have, I can be a little less klutzy with the kit and take better care of it. It has been flooded twice, fallen down about 3x, and still works (has also done 2.5x revolutions of the globe and subjected to baggage and other man handling from others).
If it were me I'd wait to see what ISC does with Apecs 3. I know they're working on it. In meantime, I'd just replace solenoid, etc. That sounds pretty cost effective and could serve as a backup head when 3.0 comes out.

The X1 decision would be determined by whether you need/want a/another stand-alone computer.

When Apecs 3 comes out you can then decide between Shearwater and Apecs.

Good luck.
