Re: 147m on Pelagian

Hello,

Just back from another HMS Victoria trip to Lebanon

We only had 4 days of good weather but got some good dives in. I used my Pelagian again down to 145m this time...conditions were pitch black with 12c on the bottom. Carl M from Samui (another Pelagian user) did his Trimix Explorer program in a 5mm wetsuit which was pretty hardcore! brrrrr

No dramas with my kit, but some of the others had some divelight probs of the 1400euro 'state of the art' water bottle variety...oh how i laughed. My new Greenforce dual 150 watt HID variable focus dive lights worked well and cut through the gloom fantastically which was good as we would have been in darkness otherwise

Check out my new funky-deep-cam on a budget approach. Ive put my Panasonic SD5 High Def camcorder in an D8 torch body...works fantastic - it records everything unfortunately due to having no buttons but try getting a 150m rated camera housing for under £50 elsewhere

We all used Decochek to plan the dives...thats more than 20 circa 150metre dives done in the past few months with dozens more between 80-120m. Decided to run 1.5po2 on the bottom with 1.2po2 during the stops - only 12 dives like this so far but the 4 divers who tried it with me all said they felt better afterwards.

Will edit out some of the new wreck shots and post up soon enough

Cheers,

Mark
