I don't think you guys are truly seeing this for what it is; reducing a failure point. It's highly unlikely you will have a battery or battery compartment failure while diving. It's potted. Why trade this for convenience of replacing a battery?

Yes. We don't really know how long the battery will live before replacement is required. But, when it finally does die, I'll cross that bridge when I get there. With the way technology is progressing, there will probably be something even better out at that time anyway and maybe I'll jump to that. I think we all know by now that "buying the last dive computer you will ever need" is really not plausible. In the mean time, I look forward to trouble-free diving and all of the other benefits of the X1.
