I see your point but don't agree with you at all. I'm still a greenie but I would meen that a half full scrubber would meen a shorter gas travel through the sorb. My concern is that in a situation with heavy work load or problems expired gas will not be in active scrubber material for a suffecient amount of time to remove all CO2 = bad spiral.
Perhaps you should see it the other way around and say: With a full scrubber I need to go diving a bit more..

instead of reducing safety.
