The most common source of water (moisture) on a meg woud be the O2 QC being connected wet which I try to avoid by all means. Another would be contaminated O2 fills. Either way it would be mostly accidental and in small quantities but in a pure O2 environment that solenoid is going to oxidate really fast with a lot less moisture than say in air.
A moisture filter may help in extending the life of the solenoid but of course I have no way to prove it, just an assumption.
