Why are lot of boris divers change the Offboard connection to non coded?

When I purchased my Kit I had no idea what the thread sizes were on the Boris Blocks so I bought CCR'S off board connections.I think the threads are (BSP 1/4") As you said buying the kit from the UK "buy all the things you need now or you'll pay for shipping later".That's what I did. The problem I see with Keyed off board connections is that the Keyed dill stem can't go into the Keyed O2 block or vice-a-versa. Also a Keyed QC4 can't go into a regular QC4 Body. I under stand CCR's idea that you Can't F**K up and plug in the wrong gas. I believe the Swagelok fittings are awesome and very easy to use in any conditions, also the doubled ended shut offs are worth the price. I want the ability to decide which gas I want to plug in on the dill side or O2 side it makes much more bail out options and less whips to buy. Also I'm going to switch over to a BOV and the QC4 swagelok connections won't give enough gas flow to my second stage at depth. I want the ability to plug in off board gas to that BOV . So if I were to do it all over again I would go with non Keyed QC6

One Whip for O2
One whip for BOV
I dive with a Viking dry suit so one whip for it
One whip for your BC
It's just to many special connections If they were all the same it would make things much easier for me
