I agree completely. Rebreathers carry an inherent greater risk than OC. Sure they can be used safely but the risk is still there, still real and anyone involved in rebreather diving (or considering it) needs to inform themselves of those risks.

As it says on the back of the KISS, a rebreather can kill you without warning, OC is nowhere near that league. Rebreathers aren't for everyone. Rebreather World might seem a bit elitist sometimes but the same problems that will kill you at 90m will also kill you at 19m. Rebreathers, if anything, are a great leveller in diving i.e. everyone is exposed to the same dangers no matter how "epic" or "weenie" their dive is.

Everyone needs a personal risk analysis for themselves and their Rebreather and needs to be happy with that before getting in the water on one.
