After reading through many threads over the last few days I have noticed that there seems to be a high proportion of negative points about rebreathers in general.
I understand that we all want to know about safety issues and how members thoughts may be able to prevent some incidents BUT what has happened to posts about divers having positive experiences with their hobby.
I know that if I had logged on as a potential CCR diver I would have been scared sh#tess after reading about bad instructors and training, Rebreather manufacturers that make bad equipment, and members battleing out who is the bigger, better and more knowledgable diver. Everyone has their own opinion, I have mine but that doesnt mean that I think anyone else with a different opinion is wrong. I have changed my views on many things after reading posts from other divers, mostly from more experienced but also from those with less experience than myself (if that can be possible

)
When members at my dive club speak about Rebreather's, they think they are only there for deep, long dives that involve taking risks far above that of a 'sport' dive.
Well I have to say I have just come back from the Red Sea diving with my KISS. I did eight in total, none of which even went close to deco dives, all around the hour mark and the deepest of 40mtrs. Three dives were with a PADI jnr Open water diver, max 18mtrs. I enjoyed diving in the warm, clear waters without a clumbersome drysuit, 2x large bail-out cylinders, large torches, reels etc etc....Made it all worthwhile
