I can't sit back and watch you guys have all of the fun. I am trying to get started with CCR diving before I transfer to James Cook University in Townsville, Queensland to major in marine biology!
You seem sincere so here is an outsider's perspective. If you were a really loaded 18 yr old (I mean insane loads of cash) then I would say buy the Cis Lunar even if it's just to hang it on the wall. It would be very kewl. But if you were actaully going to dive it then I'm guessiing you may end up putting an additional $20k in maintanence during your school years and the unit would spend half of that time either on the bench or being air freighted back and forth for repairs (just a guess).
The Ouroboris is a really nice unit and without much limitations as Dr. Mike has stated. It is pricey and you'll still want to buy training, sorb, gas, equipment and pay for trips after you buy the unit so you may want to consider those things as well. The other draw back to a unit like that is they are on the "big" side. Personally I occasionally like to sqeeze into small places (even if I shouldn't be there in the first place) and the boris wouldn't be good for that purpose.
So imho a new or used inspiration, classic kiss, optima, revo, meg etc would probably better suit your needs and you could still afford training, sorb, gas, diving, school etc.
Used inspo's go for as low as $4200 and if you take care of it you could probably sell it for $4200 when you're a rich marine biologist. Classic Kiss's are the same way and probably have less maintenance. If you have some extra $$ you could jazz it up with a Shearwater or Hammerhead, etc.
