Whats the Boris rated breathing Trimix?? 100m What is the CIS LUNAR rated to breathing trimix 500ft. Also watch DVD's The Coral Reef. All rebreathers used are Marks and Rich using the CIS-LUNAR. Watch Pacific Abyss. Recently filmed, three on the CIS LUNAR and one on a Mark. Watch Ice Island by Wes Skiles. All used CIs Lunar Mark 5P's I dont think a Meg. or Inspo. could handle those conditions. An Inspo. is a MCdonalds happy meal toy when compared to a Cis Lunar Mark 5p. Give me a break.
a few points and questions;
'Being rated' means nothing unless you know to what standards that rating is determined. Boris components are depth rated to 300m (1000ft) and its been swam (not scootered)
hard at near 200m (660ft) so I would say its rated (using the 'I did it and it didnt kill me' test standard

)
Has CIS lunar btw been deeper than Boris or Meg? (191m and 201m respectively)?
How much would a new CIS Lunar (or M1K16) cost today V how much is a Meg/Inspo? different leagues
The machines are in different leagues when it comes to cost to manufacture to today's sports units.
Boris, CIS Lunar, MK16 are how much? These aren't 'sports' units, they are expensive niche market units not
optimised (meg/inspo) to sports diving depths (30-50m)
Can some of the sports units be used to similar levels?...yes, but not as safely. eg (and please someone correct me if Im wrong) despite similar scrubber size Inspiration scrubber at 100m I believe lasts 1/4 as long as Boris at 100m depth (15mins based on CE test standards) In other words Boris scrubber (or MK16) is better suited to deeper dives and THATS because (unlike Inspo and Meg) its not designed/optimised primarily for sports diving depths
Final point, If the guy sending his video to Nat Geo happens to be a CIS lunar diver (or a Meg diver) then its likely thats the unit that will 'star' in the video.....I suspect its apearance doesn't mean much more than that.
