It sounds like you've got a problem of some sort. We import products at work into Australia every day using UPS and find customs are very fast. There might be some charges that need to be paid and the receiver either can't be contacted or refuses to pay. If the value of the goods is over A$1000 then there will be some charges to pay. I'd contract UPS and find out what's going on.
