Did they have a functioning unit at the Show ? What is the camera resolution ?

Yes

I dont know specifics but they were playing vid on a wide screen 32" TV that was plenty good enough for me and had no bluring even on fast mooving action shots.

Only bad thing I can say about the unit was that aparently the settings can no be altered below 10m. They took one to 150m before the screen colapsed so they rate it for 100m. It shoots four hours so I will be switching it to record and forgeting its even there till I get out of the water.

You can watch the video on deco on the screen

It down loads in 15min chunks so you can edit out big bits of nothing when you do the down load to save on download time / space

The green water underwater vidio I saw was plenty good enough for me and on a par / better than with what i get from my Sony Digital

There is a HD modle in the pipeline if HD is an issue.

Mind you I waited over a year for this one and its not quite out yet.

What is the right price ? Size/weight ? Details please...

£5K ish (so on a par with Vision and Meg) There will be an entry level unit and a deep unit with off board connectors etc etc.

27Kg

Size, Narrow but very thick. At an educated engineers guess, Id say the scrubber and electronics package was about 250mm across diameter.

The new hand sets are very nice. About 3/4 the thickness of a conventional VR3 and with excellent displays

The self loading scrubber was much smaller than the canister and i concluded some clever ideas had come up with flood recovery on the rear mounted counter lung (single lung apparently) There was an OPV mounted in the base of the scrubber housing which screamed water dump to me but its one of the unanswered questions.

The BOV is very ugly and uses a Poseidon Extreme regulator

I found this very odd as Poseidon's have a high interstage pressure but again he refused to elaborate on why they chose this rout.

He said they chose Poseidon Extremes for quality and because they are very reliable which had me falling about laughing again. I remember the multiple regulator free flows and valve seat failures my friend AndyP had before he threw all his Extremes away

I became suspicious that its because Extremes happily run at 10bar IP and broached the subject but was again given the, "Id rather not say answer "

I have to say I was impressed. If I were considering an off the shelf package this ticks most of the boxes.

That massive canister is ugly as is the BOV, its a little on the heavy side and it still uses silly little diluent and 02 cylinders but apart from that it an amazing bit of kit.
