OLED display would be nice, but its also a possible production glitch as well.. The main OLED manufacturer in the world went belly up... (just look at all your normal dislay suppliers, they all have dropped most of their oled products) There are a few others producing color OLED and some graphic single color oleds.. The large "cell" OLEDs were very power efficient but sadly both them and the even better pleds are currently history... It would take between 1-2 years for a startup to replace them..
I'm intrigued who you think is the world's biggest maker, but if you mean Cambridge Display Technologies (ticker OLED), though it did go bankrupt, it was bought by Sumitomo Chemical last month. It's not the end of display technologies just because no US companies are significnt players anymore. It is also interesting that just today the Nikkei newspaper carried a front-page story about Sony starting sales of 11-inch OLED TVs from 1 December. At 3mm thick, it sounds quite attractive.
