I've seen such a beast on a meg and it would appear to offer several advantages. It could be smaller for the weight you want, or heavier for not too much sacrifice in size depending upon your weighting needs. I imagine cost for machining in lead vs. a harder material could be lower, as well. Lead would absolutly be cheaper.... and machine time would be cut in half... but not as cool looking..

I will be happy to have a set cut in lead... I am meeting with my machinist tomorow at 7 AM... I will bring the groups requests to him..
