Nearly all RGUs I've handled, or heard of, seem to have a flow rate adjusted right at .9 l/m If you have a flowmeter, check this. Then use the method above. Assuming you have a DSV, then check it with DSV closed, and a charged scrubber in place. This will give you a total loop (excl man) free volume, a very useful number for several calculations.

Establishing such a method for 'time to fill the bag' also gives you a convenient quick-check method to verify correct mass flow pre-dive.
