Re: Has Anyone Used CCR-35 Wing On A Prism?

Hello,

I'm expecting to take delivery on my Prism and start training by the end of September.

I've decided to go with the Grey Wolf Innovation frame, which means that I'll need to buy a wing.

Its my understanding that the CCR-35 was designed for use with a Meg. I'm curious whether anyone is using or has used it with a Prism and Grey Wolf frame? If so, what are your opinions? In addition, were any modifications necessary in order to use it with the Prism?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Heretic, I have used 3 plates and 3 wings now with the Prism and my latest and favorite setup is the jstovall & company plate with the new Zeagle 37lb wing. It's very similar to the Halcyon 35lb in terms of its shape and dimentions, but has some elastic that pulls the wing closer to the body when inflated and has 2 pull dumps on each side of the bottom which makes it that much easier to rinse out. Not a big difference btw the CCR35, but it is quite a bit cheaper also.

As for plates, if you prefer a web harness with d-rings mounted on the shoulder webbing and want to carry your BO that way, then the Grey Wolf plate is very nice. The GW cowling is also very well made. The GW plate I used included a flat harness plate which sandwhiches the webbing btw it and the main plate which mounts the cyls and head. This makes the depth of the rig thin as can be, no gap btw the harness plate and the main plate, unlike a traditional OC harness/plate setup. But I found it a bit much for my warm water diving and went with side mount BO. But if you do most of your diving in a drysuit, I'd guess the GW plate with it's extended length room for a dry suit bottle and full length cowling is a good choice... -Andy
