Re: New Irish Midlands Rebreather Diver

Hi Ger,

good to read your report. Was actually thinking about doing that trip with Richard but wasn't able to in the end. I actually did it earlier this year, wrecks aplenty. Glad to hear it went well.

Hello,

I have been diving 10years, 800+ dives, member of Athlone Sub Aqua Club which uses the CMAS system. I am an M2 instructor and IANTD Full OC Trimix Diver, did that with John Thorthon in Scapa a few year ago. Just got an Inspiration Vision rebreather, it arrived yesterday week, thanks to Barrie Law who helped me out(Divertec Ltd) . I did the Mod 1 course last wknd and was comfortable with the unit so brought it on a trip to Oban in Scotland during the week. Dived the Breda, Thesis, Rondo, Shuna and the Hispania. Enjoyed the trip which was well run by Richard who runs Aquaholics Dive Centre from Ballycastle, Northern Ireland(Scuba Diving Equipment - Dive Club in Ireland - Aquaholics). Enjoy diving wrecks, especially subs and with sharks. I know feck all about rebreathers and hope to change that by reading the forums and clocking up the hours. I intend doing the Mod 2 and 3 early next year and doing a lot of trips to Malin in Ireland to dive deep wrecks with Geoff (www.divenorth.com).
There were no rebreather divers in the midlands until six months ago, now there are five of us, hopefully more will follow.

Rgds
