I use the Apexs, but it is that easy. Hook it up and calibrate to air then then to O2. Fast, easy, accurate.

I've not had any problems with back pressure. You can test it by disconnecting the inflater hose after the cavity is flushed to see if if causes any immediate decrease in the readings.

I have also done a slight pressure test by covering up the outlet hole after it is all calibrated and watching the readings to see if they go above 1.0. I'm not certain if putting this pressure differential across the sensor is a good idea though (one side of the sensor will be at ambient and the other side higher). Not certain I could recommend it without someone more knowledgeable about the sensors said it was ok.

If I'm being picky I'll calibrate to air from a tank instead of still air to remove the humidity issue from the equation.
