Re: Excessive counterlung volume on my MEG

Hi Rebreather World

When i bought my meg I thought "wow, these cordura counterlung are huge for me". I am only 174cm and weigh approx. 65kg (US: five foot seven and 143lb).
Even after diving the unit more than 40 hours (minimum volume), I still find the lungs excessively big, and come to realise that i never will be happy with them and dream of replacing them with custom ones.

I measured my own lung volume by blowing in to a bag and sinking it in a bucket of water to see how much water i displaces, and it came out to about 4.8l. I measured each Meg counterlung to be 4.5l.

What is the optimal counterlung volume for me?
Has anyone successfully modified the supplied cordura counterlungs?
Are there any other sollutions?

Safe diving

Christian
Hi Christian

My CL's seemed huge also, but after having ISC sew the inside seam down it was less noticable. It gives a streamline look for the front and it gives optimal volume for me. It is another option, plus I am to rough on things to have neoprene CL's
