Louis,

I have both the SS and AL OMS backplates. I was using my SS with a heavy STA and no other weight at first. I now use the OMS AL with the heavy STA and a 2lb ditchable soft weight. I like the trim better and I shed about 2lbs or so from the overall weight. This is all for diving dry. When I dive wet, I just remove the 2lb soft weight from it's pouch.

For bouyancy, I am currently using OMS's 35lb single wing. It fits a standard meg cannister perfect, but is a little long for my Movie Meg can. The bouyancy seems to be fine for wetsuit diving, and with the drysuit, I barely use it.

For cylinders, I use the small 13 cf low pressure steels. They give enough volume for multiple dives and are compact and have good bouyancy characteristics.

You can see pics of this setup in my gallery.

I have a buddy just finishing his COPIS training. I'm looking forward to getting to know his rig.

Best wishes,

Eric
