The foam isn't cheap, I tried sourcing some myself in the UK and it wasn't easy. When I did find a vendor they wouldn't confirm it was "ocean rated" so I believe CCRB had to get it from the US. They have also had to put in some tooling to form the base so I guess it costs what it costs.
