Hi Rebreather Forum,
I just wanted to quickly introduce myself as a fresh member. My name is Cam, I have spent the last 6 years diving on open circuit as a Dive Instructor and Technical Officer for Tasmanian Aquaculture and Fisheries Institute in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.
I have now moved to Brisbane for further study and with this relocation came the opportunity to learn some rebreather diving. I am looking to start a Dolphin SCR course in about a month as I would love the new dive experience and less voice then Open Circuit.
I was thinking of choosing the Dolphin as I thought it would be the most cost efficient and viable rebreather for a PhD student with limited resources ei cost to buy 2nd hand, gas and scrubber refills etc. I was also interested in the Azimuth, however I struggled to find units and instructors in queensland and new south wales.
There are plenty of postings that I need to look through but if anyone has suggestions on dive operators, units or are keen on diving together in Northern NSW or SE Queensland over the following couple of years I would be very keen to hear from you.
