Hi Barrie
Thanks for your reply,
Now is there any chance of a reply from Coltri to my three original questions yet?
Re your three points:
1. Barry the picture I posted was a Coltri straight off the Coltri web site. Clearly an aluminium head on steel fittings hence why I sent in the references about aluminium and nitrox. Go look, it was still up today.
2. Barry we are talking about nitrox 40% through the Coltri/Bauer air standard oil lubricated compressors. It is not a matter of if we agree or differ. The references tell a totally different story. IMHO your reference to Nitrox 23% is just a fudge, its doesnt help the Cotri position here. Again I ask has it been tested on a higher percentage than that it is claimed to be suitable for?
3. The whole point of my post, is not a question of agrement or manufactures recommendations, this manufacturer has been caught short. Coltri are misleading you and others here, The product I fear has not been tested on nitrox other than with the Permea membrane, and Coltri have assumed that because the membrane can only produce 40% max have come up with the idea that this now is a safe process.
However now that risk has increased further to users by selling there standard air compressors now “suitable” for continuous blending.
Do you have full details on this oil you posted
I’m sorry but the real world is calling your bluff.
Hi Iain,
The basis of your argument is any Oxygen level above 23% Nitrox is considered in your opinion to be Oxygen (use no OIL) I do not agree and that is not a fudge but a fact of life and hundreds of installations worldwide are safely using oil compressors to pump nitrox and have been without incident or I think you would have listed them along with your comprehensive previous Nitrox reference list.
I do think the real world needs affordable Nitrox solutions and Coltri Sub are leading the way in this field but it is also worth noting the standards you wish to apply to 23% Nitrox and treat that as 100% Oxygen is not necessary unless you happen to have an Oil Free agenda
