Hello all rebreather divers. I have been diving open circuit for the last 20 yrs and taking the next evolutionary step to diving with Rebreathers. I am looking for some first hand information on the Ouroboros. From my research so far and being a VR3 owner. I can see the quality of the products. It seems to be a very well made unit and Kevin Gurr is contanly looking to improve the product. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone can give me and pros and cons of the Inspiration with vision electronics vs the Ouroboros. Thanks
Hi jersey,

Welcome to Rebreather World Look up Frankie Pel... in members list. He dives a Ouroboros and crews for the Independence II.

Vision electronics is a just that fully electronic with an independent secondary display but it still reads off of one mother board. It looks like a fun an easy unit to fly, but for me I prefer a totally independent secondary (HH, Boris, PRISM, MK15.5 to name a few).

The Boris is an impressive Rig with state of the art electronics and for me personally I like very simple electronics (set point control only) I will get deco from a separate source.

I am not knocking or promoting any unit (they are all good). The best advice I can share with you, is just make sure which type of electronics and CCR philosophy you will use before purchasing your ccr. I would also suggest looking into the Colkln Eagle. It is a reproduced MK15.5 with improvements (same price range as Ouroboros)

Rebreather World is a great web site with an enormous amount of information and input from real divers doing real dives everyday. Good luck in your quest and welcome to the dark side

BTW I researched for over a year before buying my rig.
