| Re: Sea Diamond Wreck in Greece Hello,
This is a good discussion to have...
First, there is a suspected loss of life. No one knows where they are. The most likely is on the boat but history is full of stories where people like that turn up alive someplace else... and stories where they don't.
I don't think talking about diving on the wreck is disrespectful in any way. If it makes you uncomfortable to read about diving the Sea Diamond this close to the sinking, and possible deaths, then you might want to refrain from opening a discussion thread in the "Rebreather Wreck Diving" board that has a message title "Sea Diamond Wreck in Greece".
I imagine every salvage diving company started writing bids the moment they heard the news. I can't see why private divers would be any different.
One thing to consider though... beside the dangers of the angle of the ship and bottom (side?) is that it isn't the nice clean wreck most of us are used to. May hazmat issues are involved which we are not used to that commercial divers are. I expect it would be very easy to pickup something nasty.
