Re: how much lead weight?

I also dive a meg, with a crushed O3 suit... but and here's the big but. I have a Agir SS backplate, and I require no weight at all. In fact in fresh water I sink too fast!! Suits me though.. No weight belts

I was very surprised at how much weight I have to carry. seems to be a lot more than when I was training, but I've changed my drysuit (from a 5mm neo to 3mm neo but bigger suit) and added xerotherm arctics
I have a Meg, ss bp and I carry 9kg in fresh water - can just about get away with 8kg if i really wanted to, but more comfortable with 9kg. (This is more than I carried single tank in salt water with old drysuit!)

I guess with more practice I'll be able to start ditching some weight.. i should also be less lazy and try to get all the air out of my drysuit before kitting up - see what difference that makes.

I'm 5 foot 9, 60kg ish
