I realise that it could only show an averge or use voting logic.

I should have made my question a little more clear

so here goes.........

Isn't a display that can actually show the actual value and its real time changes without useing codes, either in colour or flash rate, far more clear and less likely to be mistaken by the diver. Or would this make it far to easy to not look at the handsets and miss something that it would be far better not to miss.
